FAQ | Brazen Learning

Question 1

What are Continuing Learning Points (CLPs) and why do they matter?

Accepted Answer

Continuing Learning Points (CLPs) are the federal government's unit of measure for professional development. Most federal acquisition and contracting professionals are required to earn a set number of CLPs each year to maintain their certifications and warrants. One CLP equals one hour of approved learning. Brazen Learning courses are designed to meet federal CLP standards, and each course page lists the specific CLPs awarded upon completion.

Question 2

How do I earn CLPs through Brazen Learning?

Accepted Answer

Complete any eligible Brazen Learning course and pass the associated assessment. You will receive a certificate of completion that documents your CLPs. The number of CLPs varies by course and is listed on each course page. You can use your certificate to self-report CLPs in your agency's learning management system or submit it to your supervisor for warrant maintenance.

Question 3

Is there a cost to receive a CLP certificate?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our FAR/DFARS Essentials course is available free with no credit card required, but the CLP certificate and official credit require a $17 purchase. This covers the cost of certificate generation, record-keeping, and CLP documentation. All other courses include the certificate in the course price.

Question 4

How long do I have access to a course after purchasing?

Accepted Answer

Once you purchase a course, you have ongoing access to the course materials. You can revisit lessons, review content, and download resources at any time. The F.I.R.C.E. 72-Hour Tool is licensed for one year from the date of activation.

Question 5

Do your NICET courses guarantee I will pass the exam?

Accepted Answer

No course provider can guarantee exam results, and we will not make that claim. What we do guarantee is that our NICET Certification Prep content is built to align with the NICET exam body of knowledge, covers the topics most commonly tested, and gives you structured practice to build confidence before exam day. Your results depend on your preparation and effort.

Question 6

What formats are your courses available in?

Accepted Answer

All Brazen Learning courses are delivered online and self-paced, so you can complete them on your schedule without coordinating around a class time. Course length varies widely depending on the subject, ranging from 90 minutes for focused topic courses to 100 hours or more for comprehensive programs. If your organization has specific delivery needs beyond self-paced online, contact us to discuss what options may be available.

Question 7

What is SAM.gov and why does my business need to be registered?

Accepted Answer

SAM.gov (System for Award Management) is the official U.S. government database where businesses must register to be eligible for federal contracts and grants. Without an active SAM.gov registration, you cannot receive a federal contract award, and your registration must be renewed annually. Brazen Learning is registered in SAM.gov, and we help contractors understand the registration and renewal process through our federal procurement training.

Question 8

What is the difference between FAR and DFARS?

Accepted Answer

The Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) is the primary set of rules governing how the federal government buys goods and services. It applies to all federal agencies. The Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) is a supplement to the FAR that applies specifically to Department of Defense contracts. DFARS includes additional requirements around cybersecurity (including CMMC), supply chain security, and defense-specific procurement rules. If you work with DoD, you need to understand both.

Question 9

What is CMMC and does it apply to my business?

Accepted Answer

The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) is a DoD framework that requires defense contractors to meet specific cybersecurity standards before they can be awarded certain contracts. If your business handles Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) or Federal Contract Information (FCI) as part of a DoD contract, CMMC requirements likely apply to you or will apply in the near future. Our CMMC training helps contractors understand what level applies to them and what steps to take.

Question 10

What is a CAGE code and do I need one?

Accepted Answer

A Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) code is a five-character identifier assigned to businesses that do business with the U.S. government. You receive a CAGE code automatically when you complete your SAM.gov registration. It is required for federal contracting and is used to identify your business in government systems. If you are registered in SAM.gov, you already have one.

Question 11

What does it mean that Brazen Learning is a certified WOSB?

Accepted Answer

Brazen Learning is a certified Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) under the SBA's WOSB Federal Contract Program. This means the business is at least 51% unconditionally and directly owned and controlled by one or more women who are U.S. citizens. Brazen Learning is 75% majority-owned by a woman, which qualifies us for WOSB set-aside contracts in industries where women-owned businesses are underrepresented.

Question 12

Is Brazen Learning a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB)?

Accepted Answer

Brazen Learning is co-owned by a Service-Disabled Veteran, who holds a 25% ownership stake. However, we are not certified as an SDVOSB through the VA or SBA, which requires at least 51% ownership and control by a service-disabled veteran. We are proud of our veteran co-ownership and disclose it accurately, but we do not claim SDVOSB certification or pursue SDVOSB set-aside contracts.

Question 13

Can Brazen Learning compete for WOSB set-aside contracts?

Accepted Answer

Yes. As a certified WOSB, Brazen Learning is eligible to compete for federal contracts set aside for women-owned small businesses in qualifying NAICS codes. We are registered in SAM.gov and listed on the Texas Centralized Master Bidders List (CMBL). If you are a contracting officer looking for training solutions, we welcome the opportunity to discuss your requirements.

Question 14

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We accept all major credit and debit cards through our secure payment processor. For organizational purchases, government purchase card (GPC) payments are accepted. If your agency or organization requires a purchase order or invoice process, contact us directly and we will work with your procurement team.

Question 15

What is your refund policy?

Accepted Answer

We offer refunds on course purchases within a defined window, subject to the terms in our refund policy. If you have not accessed a significant portion of the course content, you are generally eligible for a refund. Please review our full refund policy page or contact us at jenn@brazenlearning.com if you have a specific situation you would like us to review.

Question 16

Do you offer group or organizational pricing?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If you are purchasing training for a team, agency, or organization, contact us to discuss volume pricing and custom training options. Our turnkey training packages are designed for organizations that need a complete, ready-to-deploy training program without the time and cost of building one from scratch.

Question 17

What does custom training from Brazen Learning look like?

Accepted Answer

Custom training is built entirely around your organization's specific regulations, workforce, and learning objectives. We work with you from the start, whether you come in with a detailed outline or just a vision for what your team needs. If you have subject-matter experts but need help shaping the content into a structured course, we can meet with your team to develop the scope together. The end result is a professional, compliance-ready training program built to your spec, not a generic course with your logo on it.

Question 18

How is custom training delivered?

Accepted Answer

We offer two delivery paths depending on where you want to host the training. If you want us to manage everything, we host the course in a dedicated LMS instance, handle all the technical setup, and keep everything running for your team. If your organization already has its own learning management system, we deliver SCORM-compliant files that you can upload and deploy yourself. Both options result in the same professionally developed course content, the difference is simply where it lives and who manages the platform.

Question 19

What does the development process look like?

Accepted Answer

We start with a scoping conversation to understand your requirements, your audience, and any regulatory or compliance standards the training needs to meet. From there we develop the course structure, lessons, and assessments. Our standard base course includes ten lessons, with options to add video, interactive branching scenarios, and additional content as needed. Turnaround timelines begin once we have everything we need from your side, and we keep you informed throughout the build. The goal is a course your team will actually complete, not just click through.

Question 20

What is a dedicated Customer Success Manager and do I need one?

Accepted Answer

A dedicated Customer Success Manager is an optional add-on you can select when setting up your custom training program. If you choose to add one, your CSM monitors how your team is progressing through the training, flags employees who are falling behind or have not started, and provides regular reporting so your compliance leads always know where things stand. For organizations with mandatory training requirements, that visibility is the difference between staying compliant and scrambling before an audit. It is not required, but for teams where completion tracking matters, it removes a significant administrative burden.

Question 21

What does training reporting include?

Accepted Answer

Our reporting tracks completion rates, assessment scores, and individual progress across your enrolled learners. You will know exactly who has finished, who is in progress, and who has not started. Reports are delivered on a regular cadence so your team leads and compliance officers do not have to chase down status updates or dig through an LMS dashboard. If a deadline is approaching and someone is behind, you will know before it becomes a problem.
